DAMN IT!

I just found out that my college mentor and friend, Dr. Jean D'Amato just passed away. I can not even explain how this makes me feel. She was such a FUCKING amazing person. With her death comes an understanding of history that no other person can understand, a profound International Scholar that had an impact on me that few will ever understand. Di Mei!

Back to Work Soon

Well, I start back too work on Tuesday. The pneumonia is cleared but I still have a touch of bronchitis. Oh and by the way, my stuffed monkies are not talking too me any more so the medication seems too be working hehe. Also, in two weeks i will be going back for a full physical and a prescription of chantix to quit smoking. I realized the other night what a strange life I live, good, but odd. I have pretty much quit tours altogether and although that will dampen my checking account, I realize I am just tired of dealing with multiple jobs and everything else. I feel weird having missed so much work, but I also know there was little else too be done. I am also starting online classes at Delgado this week for my Professional Development Plan. I am kind of excited about this even though it is just an online course. I also have all my information in to Delgado so during the Summer or this Fall I may also be taking a few management classes as well, perhaps working toward a Masters even. Tomorrow marks the return of Thomas back into the fold which makes me very happy, I have missed our little Teefus. Can't sleep tonight, had too take an anti-histimin (sp?) for my congestion and the stuff keeps me up for hours, but tomorrow I need to get up early and get rent paid. Did anyone else forget that february only has 28 days in it? Anyway, I hope you all are doing well and sorry if I haven't been in touch a lot as of late, but if nothing else, I am addicted to facebook (Fishville, Fish World, and Farmville). So if I accidentally send you something and you do not play, please don't be offended, just let me know, I try to customize my messages just to the ones who use the games.

Mardi Gras is Over!

Well I have not posted anything through-out the Mardi Gras season as it tends to the busiest time of the year for us. It was a good time this year, a little crowded as always but I mostly avoided parades and such and opted more for enjoying hanging-out at Lafittes, the Lantern, and Starlight. Crime-wise, it wasn't too bad in comparision to other Mardi Gras' but we did have a house fire on Bourbon Street and I don't believe anyone was hurt. As for me, well Lundi Gras night, I started having coughing/sneexing fits. Couldn't get into the doctor til Friday, but found out that over Mardi Gras, I developed pneumonia. I am on "bed-rest" til next week in part becuase I am contagious, but hey, at least I am not the hopsital again hehe.I do have to say I am very glad I changed doctors back in October. It is nice walking into a doctors office, him examine you and say definitively, this is what you have and here is what we are going too do..Antibiotic injection with steroid injection chaser to kick it off followed by two more oral antibiotics and cough medicine with Aleve for the strained muscles (oh yeah, in one of coughing fits I pulled a muscle in my chect and in my right arm, nice huh?) But if want to say Hi too me, you won't find around the quarter, and highly suggest carrier pidgeon so you don't get too close. hehehe

She Better Be Glad She is Goldie Hawn's Daughter

I am used to filming causing chaos in New Orleans with parking and such, but why does it have to interfere with drag shows hehehhee. Tonight, Coca was supposed to perform at Oz but pretty much every drag queen in New Orleans was at a filming for Katie Hudson's new movie. Needless to say, the show got cancelled/made very late although I waited as long as I could.. I am really just joking, I think it is awesome that our drag/transsexual community got a feature on a major movie. Now I am excited to see it! *NOTICE* I talked to Ken today and he will be here the Friday before Mardi Gras. I also hung-out with Jeff and Tim tonight, think I neglected to mention Tim is now an official teach at Delgado! Part-time, but we are keeping our fingers crossed. And beyond that, WHO DAT (copyright the family Bourbon not the NFL!).

Mardi Gras is Upon Us

Sorry I have not posted in a while but for some reason blogger has not allowed me too log-in. Things are going well. I have dramatically cut-back on tours which financially sucks, but I just can't keep going like I used too. Lets face it we are all getting older and can't do like we were 20. I love the energy in the city right now with the Super Bowl and Mardi Gras, this should be an exciting month coming-up! I also got registered at Delgado to take some management courses on-line which I am hoping will help me better manage the rangers. Beyond that, I took time for myself this weekend, did some laundry, got my room cleaned-up, and rested. I really should do that more often. I like going to drag shows and all, but five in one week is too much which is what I did two weeks ago. Coca, Marcy, Zsa Zsa and Princess better appreciate the love hehehe. Will post again soon, blogger permitting.

Lets Talk About Bias Verses Ignorance

Ok one social blog: I grew-up in Texas and delt with a lot social conflict such as racism, classism, and homophobia. One of the reasons I moved to New Orleans was to avoid such things. Yes we have social conflict here in New Orleans but it is something that is not acceptable in my circles, but it seems ok to stereotype me as a Texan, being arrogent, self-involved and cocky. This was pointed out to me tonight. Seriously? I will joke about stereotypes, basically because they are ignorant spweings of people, but to meet someone that refuses to accept me as an intelligent person because of where I was born is offensive. Like I said, not too rant too much, but give me a break. That is like saying someone from California can not eat meat. Made my point? hehehe

Are We Still Talking About Poncho's Butt Plug? - Lance

Tonight was Ringo and it was pretty fun, I am just a little disappointed that not many of the regulars were there.Today I started my day with a homeless person who died last night during the freeze night. We try to get the homeless help whenever possible, but I feel more needs to be done, including more training for my rangers. This is something that has plagued me all day. I have dealt with death on many levels throughout my life, but this is something that is just senseless and makes me upset on a very personal level. With this being said, please do not give the homeless money, encourage them to go to the shelters, specifically the Mission, so they do not take cash, buy alcohol and greater endanger themselves. Sorry, I do not tend to make political posts but this is weighing on me right now.
